About Carla

I graduated from Miller-Motte College in Cary, NC at the top of my class in June of 2010. While attending massage school I was exposed to a variety of techniques and massage modalities, but my interests currently focus on learning more about myofascial techniques and trigger point therapies. If you're looking for a relaxation massage, unfortunately, I am not the massage therapist for you. 😞

I have always been interested in massage, but only decided to pursue it as a second career after my mother was in a car accident which left her with a herniated disc and chronic back pain. This has given me a love for massage that focuses on relieving functional and structural discomfort frequently caused by injury, poorly setup work stations or overly ambitious activities taken on by weekend warriors and serious athletes.

After receiving Dynamic or In Motion Cupping Massage from a colleague regularly for over a year, I attended the International Cupping Therapy Associations Contemporary Cupping Methods and Facial Rejuvenation cupping massage training courses in June of 2017. The wealth of information provided in this certification program is simply unbelievable. I am now well versed in using Fire, Baguanfa (Silicone), Kangzhu and the specially designed facial Belletazze and Bells Cups to create a variety of changes and improvements within the body. I primarily prefer to use the Baguanfa Cups as they are much easier to apply, control level of suction and provide greater options for treatment and movement once applied. The addition of cupping to my practice has allowed to me to provide more effective and therapeutic work for my clients, without the discomfort that is sometimes associated with trigger point, myofascial release and other deeper techniques.
